Local Heroes Auto receives State Tax credit for expansion

Local Heroes Auto is pleased to announce that we have been awarded a $400,000 state tax credit to expand the company and add jobs in Sonoma County California with an eye towards expanding in neighboring counties.

Local Heroes Auto, a family owned firm started by Frederic Blue in 2006, received the Cal Competes Tax Credit for Small Businesses from the state, after a lengthy application process. We provide Auto Repair Services to all makes and models of automobiles and light Trucks. We repair & service foreign and domestic automobiles including Diesel powered vehicles, motorhomes and trailers.  We also sell and install all major brands of Tires and perform California state BAR administered STAR Smog inspections at all of our locations in Petaluma and Santa Rosa.

During this past summer we launched our partnership with the California DMV, where we provide various DMV Registration, Title, Plates, Stickers and Vin Verification services at each of our locations.  This complement to our Smog program we felt made sense for our customers, because they can pay their registration, get their sticker and smog done at the same time, usually in less than 45 minutes.  We have had an overwhelming response so far by our customers to this new offering.  We were able to hire 2 new employees; both experienced DMV program administrators to help implement and run this new service for us.  We have a total of 5 people trained and approved by the DMV to assist with this new service.  

This tax credit will give us the opportunity to accelerate our investments and expansion plans over the next two to three years and complete them in the next five.

The California Competes Tax Credit is an income tax credit available to small and large businesses that want to come, stay or grow in California. It is designed to help keep local companies stay competitive and at the same time providing jobs in the communities they operate and live in.

Every employee here at Local Heroes Auto helped contribute to our successful application; understanding it will also help them in their careers, as well as the company with expansion, investments in training, equipment, tools, enhancing employee benefits and best of all, some new co-workers.  We operate three Napa AutoCare Centers in partnership with Napa and their locally owned parts stores.   We value all of our partners and their support and contributions to our company.
