JOB DESCRIPTION – SERVICE MANAGER/WRITER

The Service Manager’s role is to keep the pulse of the shop; maximize efficiency, revenue, and productivity, without sacrificing quality or customer satisfaction.

The Service Manager reports directly to the General Manager and the President of the company, while having multiple tiers of staff report to them directly.

As a manager, the position carries the roles of:

• Strong focus on customer satisfaction, sales building, team building, and increasing car count (P&L Responsibility).
• Oversight and purchasing of parts, materials, and/or equipment.
• Management of team-member and customer retention.
• Strategy and developments to bring in new business. (Customer campaigns & fleet accounts)
• Public Relations- involvement with the local community.
• Serving customers and acting as a liaison between customers and technicians.
• Vendor relations and acquisitions.

Qualifications

• Prior Service Manager & Writer experience preferred.
• Successful management experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance (ASE Certifications helpful)
• Computer-proficient: Ability to work with automotive work-order software and Microsoft Office
• Ability to comprehend written instructions and information.
• High School Diploma or GED (College Coursework, a plus.)
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background screen
• Willingness to work some Saturdays
